Post-Wise Eligibility and Qualification
The most important point for applicants is that eligibility is different for each post. A general degree alone is not enough for most of these positions because relevant professional experience is also mandatory.
1. Zonal Head (Retail)
Educational qualification
- Graduation from a Government-recognised university or institution.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60% marks.
- CFP, CFA, NISM V-A, NISM Investment Advisor or NISM 21-A certification.
Required experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in managing sales in Wealth Management, Retail Banking or Asset Management Companies.
- Out of this, at least 5 years should involve leading a large team of Relationship Managers and Team Leads.
2. Regional Head (RH)
Educational qualification
- Graduation from a Government-recognised university or institution.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60% marks.
- CFP, CFA, NISM V-A, NISM Investment Advisor or NISM 21-A certification.
Required experience
- Minimum 12 years of experience in relationship management, preferably in wealth management.
- At least 5 years of experience leading a large team of Relationship Managers or Team Leads.
3. Relationship Manager-Team Lead
Educational qualification
- Graduation from a Government-recognised university or institution.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60% marks.
- CFP, CFA, NISM V-A, NISM Investment Advisor or NISM 21-A certification.
Required experience
- Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in relationship management, preferably in wealth management.
- Experience as a Team Lead is preferred.
4. Investment Specialist (IS)
Educational qualification
One of the following professional qualifications is required:
- Postgraduate Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Capital Markets, Banking, Insurance or Actuarial Science; or
- CA; or
- CFA.
Preferred qualifications
- CA, CFP, CFA, NISM Investment Advisor, Research Analyst Certificate or NISM 21-A certification.
Required experience
- Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience as an investment advisor, counsellor, officer or part of a product team in Wealth Management Firms or Asset Management Companies.
5. Investment Officer (IO)
Educational qualification
One of the following is required:
- Postgraduate Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Capital Markets, Banking, Insurance or Actuarial Science; or
- CA; or
- CFA.
Preferred qualifications
- CA, CFP, CFA, NISM Investment Advisor, Research Analyst Certificate or NISM 21-A certification.
Required experience
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience as an investment advisor, counsellor, officer or part of a product team in Wealth Management Firms or Asset Management Companies.
6. VP Wealth
Educational qualification
- Graduation from a Government-recognised university or institution.
Preferred qualifications
- MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60% marks.
- NISM V-A, NISM 21-A, CFP or CFA certification.
Required experience
- At least 6 years in sales and marketing with leading banks, Wealth Management Firms or Asset Management Companies.
The notification also gives preference to candidates with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience as a Relationship Manager or in a similar role in wealth management.
7. AVP Wealth
Educational qualification
- Graduation from a Government-recognised university or institution.
Preferred qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Marketing or Banking.
- NISM V-A, NISM 21-A, CFP or CFA certification.
Required experience
- Minimum 3 years in sales and marketing with leading banks, Wealth Management Firms or Asset Management Companies.
- SBI Wealth CRE candidates with 4 years of experience are also mentioned in the notification.
Preference is given to candidates with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience as a Relationship Manager or in a similar Wealth Management role.

The remuneration structure also includes fixed pay, applicable allowances and performance-linked components as per the Bank’s policy.
Contract Period
Selected candidates will initially be engaged for 5 years.
The contract may be renewed for another 4 years at the Bank’s discretion, subject to the conditions specified by the Bank.
The contract can generally be terminated by either side by giving 2 months’ notice or by payment/surrender of compensation in lieu of the notice period.
Selection Process
There is no written examination mentioned in this notification.
The selection process consists of:
- Shortlisting of applications
- One or more rounds of interview, which may be personal, telephonic or video-based
- CTC negotiation, where applicable
Important selection points
- Merely meeting the minimum qualification and experience requirements does not guarantee an interview call.

- The qualifying marks in the interview will be decided by SBI.

- Experience should be supported by valid documentary evidence.
- SBI may verify experience through employer certificates, appraisal letters, appointment and relieving letters, offer letters with IT returns or other authentic evidence.
- Teaching and training experience will not be counted for eligibility.
- Experience of less than six months in an organisation will not be counted for eligibility.

Candidates are required to select three different circles while applying.
The notification warns that repeated or incorrect circle selections can lead to the Bank taking an appropriate decision, and candidates generally cannot request a change of circle preference later.
