Admit Card Release Status (Soft Note)
Soft note: as of 28 August 2026, neither the exam city intimation slip nor the admission certificate / hall ticket for Stenographer Grade C & D Examination, 2026 appears active for download on the public Candidate Login path in the usual “live admit card” sense. SSC generally posts a homepage / Notice Board update when regional or national admit-card links go live. Until then, treat every “download now” message on Telegram or random job apps as unverified.
When SSC does open the link, you will normally see:
- A notice titled for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2026 under Admit Card / Candidate Login
- Login fields for Registration Number and Password (or Date of Birth, if the form asks)
- A PDF admission certificate with photo, signature, centre and shift
Soft note: SSC does not courier paper admit cards. If your registration was successful and fees (where applicable) were paid, you remain eligible to download once the Commission activates the module — there is no separate “apply for hall ticket” form.

Exam Schedule — CBE Window 9–12 September 2026
The Computer Based Examination is spread across four days: 9, 10, 11 and 12 September 2026. Soft note: you will not appear on all four days. SSC allots one exam date and one shift (morning / afternoon as applicable) printed only on your city slip and admit card.
What to expect on the schedule side:
- Reporting time is earlier than the actual exam start — often by 60–90 minutes or more
- Gate closing is strictly enforced; late entry is rarely allowed once the lab starts biometric / photo capture
- Centre city may differ from your preferred city if capacity is constrained
Soft note: always plan travel after the city intimation is out, not before — booking non-refundable tickets on guesswork is risky.
City Intimation Slip — What It Is and When to Watch
Soft note: SSC usually releases an exam city / centre intimation roughly 7–10 days before the CBE. For a 9–12 September window, many candidates therefore watch the portal from late August into the first days of September 2026.
The city slip typically shows:
- Tentative exam city (sometimes with a note that the exact venue comes on the admit card)
- Registration / roll identifiers
- A reminder to download the full admission certificate later
Soft note: city intimation is not a substitute for the hall ticket. Carry both only if SSC asks; in most cycles the printed admit card is the mandatory entry document. Refresh ssc.gov.in and Candidate Login daily once the calendar enters the typical city-slip window.
Documents to Carry on Exam Day
| Item | Soft note |
|---|---|
| Printed admit card / admission certificate | Mandatory — colour or clear B/W |
| Original photo ID | Aadhaar / Voter / PAN / Driving Licence / Passport (as listed on call letter) |
| Photocopy of the same ID | Soft note: keep one spare if the centre asks |
| Passport-size photograph | Soft note: 1–2 extras only if the admit card instructs |
| PwBD / scribe documents | Soft note: only if applicable and as per SSC notice |
Name spelling on the ID should match the admit card as closely as possible. Soft note: if you changed name after application, carry supporting documents and follow whatever clarification SSC prints on the call letter — do not assume verbal explanations alone will work at the gate.
Prohibited Items (Typical SSC Lab Rules)
Soft note: exact banned-item lists appear on your admit card; the following are commonly prohibited in SSC CBEs:
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, fitness bands, Bluetooth earphones
- Calculators, digital diaries, electronic pens
- Study notes, textbooks, rough sheets brought from outside
- Bags, wallets with large metal parts (follow centre instructions)
- Any communication device or storage media
Soft note: centres often provide a limited cloak / deposition facility — or none at all. Prefer arriving with only admit card, ID and a transparent water bottle if allowed. Wearing simple clothing without heavy jewellery reduces frisking delays.
Exam-Day Instructions
- Reach the venue before reporting time, not merely before exam start.
- Complete biometric / photo / signature capture as directed by invigilators.
- Sit only at the allotted computer node; do not change seats.
- Read on-screen instructions carefully before starting the timer.
- Soft note: negative marking usually applies in Stenographer CBE as per the notice — avoid random guessing without strategy.
- Do not leave the lab until the session ends and you are permitted to exit.
- Keep your printed admit card handy for mid-session checks.
Soft note: COVID-era or local health advisories, if any on the call letter, override generic advice — follow the printed instructions first.
