Exam groups (for CBT technical paper)

Diploma / Degree streams are mapped to exam groups such as:

Educational qualification

  • Must already possess the educational / technical / professional qualification prescribed for the post in Annexure A, from a recognised institute / university, on or before 13 September 2026.
  • Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed qualification must not apply.
  • Certificates should carry a clear date of issue; if the certificate date is after the closing date, supporting mark sheets / result declaration proof is required at DV (see CEN Para 6.0).

Age limit (as on 01.01.2027)

Upper-age relaxations for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other notified categories follow Para 5.2 of the CEN. Date of birth must match Matriculation / SSLC (or equivalent).

Other conditions

  • Medical standards as prescribed for the opted post (Annexure A / IR medical manuals) — medically unfit candidates are not given alternative posts.
  • Nationality / citizenship as per CEN Para 4.0.
  • Active mobile number and personal email required for the full recruitment cycle.
  • Aadhaar / DigiLocker identity authentication is strongly advised during account creation for smoother stages and fee refunds.

From 16–25 September 2026, you can edit allowed fields for ₹250 (non-refundable) per change. Create an Account details and Chosen RRB cannot be changed.

  1. Read the detailed CEN 04/2026 PDF, Annexure A (eligibility) and Annexure B (vacancies) on rrb.indianrailways.gov.in / your RRB site.
  2. Open rrbapply.gov.in (or the apply link from official RRB pages) from 14 August 2026.
  3. Create an Account (or log in with an existing RRB account from earlier CENs). Fill account details carefully — they cannot be edited later.
  4. Prefer Aadhaar / DigiLocker authentication when offered.
  5. Choose one RRB only and set zone / post preferences for posts you are eligible for.
  6. Upload / capture photo and documents as prescribed (live photo capture rules apply).
  7. Pay the fee online and submit by 13 September 2026, 23:59.
